The Long Point First Nation Health and Wellness Centre is pleased to announce the transformation of our early childhood development programming into the Mino Madizi Abinodjish, Mino Madisi Anikodadiwin Centre (MMA MMA), meaning Healthy Children, Healthy Generation in Anishinabemowin.

Effective June 19, 2025, Head Start will cease providing child care services and officially close to allow for this transition.

The MMA MMA Centre will officially open on September 2, 2025, offering no child care services but instead serving as a family support centre for expecting parents and families with children aged 0 (pre-conception) to 6. Programming will focus on:

  • Education

  • Health Promotion

  • Culture & Language

  • Nutrition

  • Social Support

  • Parental/Family Involvement

💡 Sample programs include:
Prenatal and parenting classes, developmental milestones, babysitting training, car seat safety sessions, and more.

🕘 Sessions will run Monday to Thursday, in the morning and afternoon, with closure during the 45-minute lunch break.

📌 Now Hiring:
We are currently recruiting for a MMA MMA Manager, with additional postings for two Healthy Child Development Workers to follow.
