Long Point First Nation wishes to inform members that representatives from the Jonah/Jérôme class action will be visiting Winneway on July 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the First Line Services Boardroom.
The purpose of this visit is to:
✅ Provide an update on the class action regarding compensation for students who attended provincial or school board-run day schools on reserve or in Inuit villages, including St-Jules School in Winneway.
✅ Meet with members who wish to share their personal experiences related to attending St-Jules School.
Schedule for the day:
A group presentation explaining who is included in the action, what has been done so far, and next steps.
Individual meetings for community members who wish to share their stories privately.
If you or a family member attended St-Jules School between approximately 1958 and the early 1970s, you may fall within this class action.
