Long Point First Nation advises community members and employees that 911 emergency services are now fully implemented in Winneway as of December 10, 2025. This service provides access to police, fire, and ambulance emergency response and strengthens community safety.
Community members are reminded that 911 is intended for urgent emergencies only and does not replace taxi services or medical transportation. For medical emergencies, members are strongly encouraged to contact the Nursing Station first, as it remains the primary point of contact for coordinating medical response and transportation.
An information session will be planned early in the new year to further explain how the 911 system works and how it fits within existing community services. Additional details will be shared once confirmed.
