Long Point First Nation is currently seeking applications for the position of Executive Assistant.

This is a full-time position working under the direction of the Executive Director and supporting the operations of Chief and Council.

Salary

$27.45 – $38.79 per hour
Salary according to qualifications and salary scale.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, and in accordance with policies, orientations, and priorities adopted by Long Point First Nation Council, the Executive Assistant records and formats First Nation Council decisions and resolutions and ensures they are properly documented, published, and distributed.

Key Duties

• Manage formal records of First Nation Council operations and related documentation
• Type resolutions and bylaws, record proceedings, prepare meeting minutes and distribute them to Council
• Record and publish resolutions, decisions, bylaws, and minutes
• Assist in the planning and preparation of Council meetings
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and documentation are ready for Council meetings
• Support staff to ensure adherence to reporting requirements and deliverables
• Assist in updating and maintaining annual operational plans and budgets
• Assist in developing and monitoring organizational strategies
• Coordinate administrative policies and procedures
• Conduct research, compile data, and prepare documents for presentation
• Ensure programs, services, and the organization’s mission are presented appropriately
• Monitor trends affecting operations and advise the Executive Director
• Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director and Chief and Council

Accountability

The Executive Assistant provides operational planning support and assists with the efficient management and administration of the First Nation’s financial, human, and material resources.
