Notice: Tap Water Now Safe in Long Point First Nation

Please be advised that as of March 19, 2026, tap water in Long Point First Nation is now safe for consumption and household use.

Residents may now safely use tap water for:

  • Drinking

  • Cooking

  • Preparing infant formula and beverages

  • Brushing teeth

  • Washing fruits and vegetables

  • Making coffee, tea, and ice

  • Washing dishes

  • Bathing and laundry

Important Instructions Before Use:

Before using your tap water, please complete the following steps:

  • Run all cold water taps for at least one full minute

  • Remove and clean faucet screens (aerators) with soap and water, then rinse

  • Run drinking fountains for one full minute

  • If you have a home water treatment system (e.g., softener), follow the manufacturer’s instructions before use

Once these steps are completed, your tap water is safe to use.
