Job Opportunity: Executive Assistant – Full-Time

Long Point First Nation (LPFN) is hiring a full-time Executive Assistant.

Under the direction of the Executive Director and in accordance with the policies, orientations and priorities adopted by Long Point First Nation Council, the Executive Assistant records and formats First Nation Council decisions and resolutions, and publishes and distributes them.

Key Duties

  • Manages formal records of First Nation Council operations and related documentation.
  • Types resolutions and bylaws, takes notes of proceedings, writes minutes and distributes them to Council.
  • Records and publishes resolutions, decisions, bylaws and minutes.
  • Assists in the planning and preparation of Council meetings.
  • Ensures facilities, equipment and documentation are available on time for Council meetings.
  • Supports staff in meeting reporting requirements, including timely reports and deliverables.
  • Provides support in updating and maintaining annual operational plans and correlating budgets.
  • Assists in developing and monitoring strategies to ensure the organization’s long-term financial viability.
  • Establishes and coordinates administrative policies and procedures.
  • Conducts research, compiles data and prepares papers for consideration and presentation.
  • Ensures the organization’s mission, programs and services are consistently presented appropriately.
  • Stays abreast of current trends related to the organization’s operations and services and advises the Director on trends likely to impact operations.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Executive Director, Chief and Council.

    Accountability

    The Executive Assistant is accountable for providing operational planning support and assistance for the efficient management and administration of the First Nation’s financial, human and material resources and assets.

    Salary: $27.45–$38.79/hour, according to qualifications
