On the evening of September 2, our first Comprehensive Community Planning (CCP) Circle took place—bringing together LPFN members to begin shaping the long-term vision for our community.
The discussion created a welcoming space to reflect on community strengths, challenges, and ideas for the future. Participants emphasized:
Strengths such as the beauty of our landscape, community unity, and a strong spirit of support.
Opportunities to improve needs in mental health, after-care, and better engage Elders and community members through surveys and outreach.
Priorities such as creating after-care support services, addressing mental health needs, and building community programs that connect us to the land and our roots.
There were powerful calls for getting things done, forming supportive structures, and enhancing direct communication—such as house visits and grassroots outreach. Several participants had not heard of CCP before, which reminds us of the importance of engaging in ways that are accessible and meaningful.
It’s not too late to get involved!
