Long Point First Nation invites Anishinabeg women to participate in a discussion circle as part of a research project titled “The Voices of Anishinabeg Women in the Face of the Mining Industry.”
This gathering will provide a safe and respectful space for women to share their experiences, knowledge, concerns, and strengths related to mining activities in the Abitibi–Témiscamingue region. Discussions will also explore changes experienced within the community and on the land, as well as the important roles and responsibilities women hold, including water protection, knowledge transmission, family, and community wellbeing.
The discussion circle will help guide the next steps of the research project and ensure women’s voices are heard and respected.
Date: February 23, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
