Long Point First Nation would like to share the certified results of the Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation Tribal Council (AANTC) elections held on December 3, 2025. According to the official report from Simply Voting, Verna Polson was elected Grand Chief (118 votes to 115), Shirley Tolley was elected Women’s Representative (128 votes to 91), and Jimmy Hunter was elected Elders’ Representative (100 votes). Kathleen Jerome (Vice-Grand Chief) and Mercedes Côté (Youth Representative) were elected by acclamation. A total of 234 electors cast their ballots. LPFN warmly congratulates all elected representatives and especially our members Kathleen Jerome and Jimmy Hunter for their success and continued service to the Nation.
