Long Point First Nation extends its congratulations to the newly elected members of the Political Council of the Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation Tribal Council following their swearing-in ceremony held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
Approximately fifty people attended the ceremony, which marked an important milestone for the Algonquin Anishinabeg Nation as newly elected leaders formally began their mandates.

The ceremony also included a special commemoration at the Centennial Flame. Grand Chief Lisa Robinson of the Algonquin Secretariat presented an eagle feather to honour Verna Polson’s appointment as Grand Chief.
