National Indigenous Peoples Day 2026 – Full Schedule of Events

Long Point First Nation is pleased to invite community members to join us for our annual National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration on Friday, June 19, 2026.

The day will feature cultural activities, family-friendly games, beach competitions, a traditional community feast, evening entertainment, and fireworks. Activities will take place at the Community Hall, Beach Area, Elder Centre, and Amo Ososwan School.

Highlights include:

  • Grand Entry and Opening Ceremony
  • Minute-to-Win-It Challenges
  • Big Foot Race
  • Water Balloon Toss
  • Water Bucket Relay
  • Inflatable Games
  • Skeet Shooting
  • Canoe Race
  • Horseshoe Tournament
  • Water Tug-of-War
  • King of the Dock Competition
  • Traditional Community Feast
  • Moose Calling Contest
  • Summer Trivia
  • Prize Distribution and Survey Draws
  • Deadly Uncle Vibes Comedy Show
  • Fireworks at the Beach

Additional activity stations throughout the day include temporary tattoos, bubble zone, French braid station, puzzles, volleyball, supervised swimming, canoe excursions, slingshot activities, and elder activities at the Elder Centre.

Please note:

  • This is a drug and alcohol-free event.
  • The traditional feast includes fish. Please be aware of fish allergies.
  • Kakinwawigak Street between the Fire Department and Band Office will be temporarily closed for event activities.
  • Schedule is subject to change.
