Long Point First Nation (LPFN) is currently seeking applications for the position of Payroll Clerk within the Finance Department.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing employee payroll and social assistance accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with Federal and Provincial protocols. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Position Information

- Location: Long Point First Nation
- Schedule: 35 hours per week
- Term: Indeterminate / Full-Time (6-month probationary period)
- Salary: $43,188.60 – $55,273.40
- Closing Date: June 5, 2026
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- High school diploma or experience in accounting/bookkeeping
- 1–3 years of payroll or accounting experience
- Knowledge of payroll/accounting software
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Knowledge of Algonquin culture and community is considered an asset
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing payroll and social assistance transactions
- Reviewing timesheets and attendance records
- Maintaining payroll records and employee files
- Preparing payroll reports and reconciliations
- Assisting with audits and employee benefit administration
- Responding to payroll inquiries in a timely manner
