First Line Services
First Line Services are offered as a part of Long Point First Nations child and family services to support families, parents and children in the community through a way of overall preventative and culturally-adapted services.
The mission of First Line Services is to prevent long term child placements of children in the community of Long Point First Nation. First Line Services are here to provide 2 types of services to the community of Long Point First Nation. We provide General Services for the whole community as well as Specific Services for individuals experiencing particular problems.
First Line Services is here to support our community members, families, and clients in any way that is appropriate and possible. This is why First Line Services offers a large variety of programs for Families, Parents and Children. Some of the activities that were implemented throughout the year include but are not limited to:
- Parenting Skills Program,
- Empowerment Groups,
- Cultural Activities,
- Bullying Workshops,
- One-on-one counselling services,
- Drum Socials,
- Community Kitchens,
- Home Visits,
- Hand Drum Making Workshops,
- Women activities,
- Men activities,
- Assistance/support for families in dealing with CJAT,
- Youth Activities,
- Referrals for various situations,
- Etc.
